Michelson-Ziegler has printed three poems from Aleramo's Momenti; Liriche (1921) in drypoint illustrations with the Italian text of each poem "handwritten" into the plate; with opposite-page translations in English correspondingly illustrated. Chine collé and subtle embellishment in gilt paint throughout.
Aleramo was a prominent feminist who, openly in her writing, explored her relationship with fellow woman writer Lina Poletti. This is an exquisite edition of Aleramo's evocative poetry. Michelson-Ziegler illustrations are in remarkable harmony with Aleramo's text—sumptuous and equally evocative, they are gorgeously printed. Reading these poems, one wonders why they have not been translated into English until now. This is the first volume in a planned series of Aleramo's poetry.
